The site is situated between the Pett Level Nature Reserve and the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The long shingle beach is a 250m walk from the site.
There are some pleasant walks such as along the Royal military Canal and the Seafront walk to Rye Harbour. Hastings is about 10 miles away and the picturesque town of Rye is 3 miles away.
The Channel ports are about 1.5 hours drive across Romney Marsh which makes a day trip to France easy.
